A Bit About Me

Hi everyone! I'm Rufus, a final year student at Ravensbourne University London studying BA (Hons) Animation. I'm a die-hard creative, if I'm not working on an animation I'm probably out taking photos or playing the guitar or piano at home.

I started my journey into the animation industry in 2018 when I was only 15 years old! At that time, I was taking my GCSEs and stumbled across a brand new Level 2 BTEC course being offered at school called Creative Media Production. After receiving a Level 2 Merit for the work I did, I knew in my soul that I wanted to do something related to media.

I then continued this journey when I attended a sixth-form college to study a Level 3 BTEC in Creative Digital Media Production (TV & Film). It was there that I discovered my interest in animation while studying a stop-motion animation module in my second year of study in 2022! The work I did in that module helped me develop a portfolio that got me into Ravensbourne to study a degree in animation.

During my time at Ravensbourne so far, I have been able to learn more about narrative storytelling, collaborating with others and how I want to be employed in the industry!

​

Combining my 5+ years of study of filmic language and working with cameras (physical and virtual) with my late in-depth studies into narrative storytelling, I have decided to pursue a role in previsualisation for short films aimed at being inclusive to younger audiences.
